Dr. LaShonda Taylor currently serves as Founder, CEO, and Lead Consultant of Strong Minds Consulting Firm, which she established in 2013. The firm was founded from a deep commitment to supporting nonprofit and educational organizations in strengthening organizational infrastructure and creating holistic systems of support for marginalized and underserved youth. 

 

Over the past decade, Dr. Taylor has partnered with a diverse range of clients to design and implement transformative initiatives, including Career Pathways and Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, multi-year strategic plans, organizational development frameworks, and theories of change. Her notable clients and partnerships include Cornell University, Reading with Relevance, and Peralta Community Colleges District.

In addition to her consulting work, Dr. Taylor operates a private psychotherapy practice specializing in crisis intervention, stress and depression management, and suicide prevention and intervention. Her therapeutic approach integrates Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and group therapy techniques to support individuals in achieving sustainable emotional wellness. This clinical expertise has also informed her consulting work, enabling her to successfully integrate social-emotional learning, mental health, wellness, and trauma-informed practices into the systems and organizations she supports.

Dr. Taylor actively serves on numerous governance boards and committees focused on justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, and she brings these values to the forefront of every engagement. Nationally recognized for her thought leadership, she facilitates workshops, trainings, and conference presentations centered on equitable career pathway implementation, workforce readiness, work-based learning, leadership development, and reducing disparities impacting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. Her work is grounded in creating sustainable opportunities that empower youth and young adults to thrive academically, professionally, and personally.

Blending academic expertise with extensive real-world leadership experience, Dr. Taylor is known for helping organizations translate vision into measurable impact. Whether supporting small businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, or large-scale systems, she brings strategic insight, operational excellence, and people-centered leadership to every initiative. As a passionate practitioner serving organizations across the United States, Dr. Taylor has completed hundreds of hours of advanced training in facilitation methodologies, executive coaching models, organizational leadership practices, and systems transformation strategies.
